Morning all,

I do a fair bit of typing in my job (loggin sales etc) and never had a problem. Been using a new style of system that means I use a mouse for 99% of work. Up to a couple of hourse at a time (inc browsing PH!) and my hand goes freezing cold.

Is is just bad circulation? Lack of iron? (my diets the best its been in years IMO)

Any quick fixes?

Cheers

Do you have something to rest your wrist on ? - if you hand is tilted up it might be blocking circulation and straining your hand.

Change your chair, or stand up more often.

My 'mouse' hand is normally quite hot.

Mind you, it's probably what I'm viewing that causes the, erm, hotness.

That's really interesting. Thanks smile

My mouse mat has a 'gel pad' but as the desk is quite high my wrist tends to pivot over it; so I quite often find that my hand is cold too.

Will try a standard flat mat and see if makes any difference.

I also found that using a usb mouse on my laptop meant that my hand was in the flow of the cpu fan exhaust - which after a while 'heated' up my hand and made it feel odd - in the end I made a fan deflector out or a post it not - all good now.

I've had/got the same problem which seems like a circulation issue:

Not much that can be done apart from, as the doctor said, try to avoid getting cold in the first place and an aspirin a day.

You could switch between your left and right hands every once and a while. Wireless mouse might aid this smile

most programs have keyboard actions associated to button so you 'could' get used to using them instead of reaching for teh mouse every two seconds.

I also find trackballs much easier on my wrist than mice or other 'moveable' pointers. I've been using trackballs for > 10 years now and find mice 'weird' to use now.

It amazes me that 90% of people just use a mouse without trying the options available. I guess its a bit like 90% of people using Internet Explorer rather than the other (better) options.
