What is the difference between the new Superlights and the CSRs?

I know the R's are running with a 2.0l Duratec and the CSR's run the 2.3 Cossy version.
It looks like you get more kit with the CSRs but the Superlights are, unsuprisingly, lighter so have better power to weight ratios than the CSRs, but apart from a but of CF I'm not sure where the savings come from?

And are the R engines more stressed, so expect to not last as long as the CSRs?

I guess waht I'm really asking is why the CSRs cost that much more than the Rs and would people reccommend any over the other (my current thoughts are for the R400 on cost to smiles ratio).

CSR is a very different beast. It has a totally different chassis to the superlights which is quite a lot stiffer and also has fully independent suspension at the rear. At the front the spring damper units are inside the body, which cuts down on drag and also reduces bump steer.

On the road the ride is more composed and stable (wider track as the car is the same as the bigger SV version in dimensions). The steering is very smooth and you get far less kick that in a Superlight or similar.

Overall it is a more relaxing car to drive and the 2.3 has a very healthy torque curve and it means it can cruise nicely as well as thrash.

Superlight will feel more frenetic as the suspension will feel harder and more fidgety. The car is lighter and the 2.0 litre has less torque (still plenty) and revs a little more eagerly.

They will all be fun, but it depends what your main use is.
