Approved used car - tyre question

Anyone know the minimum tread they set as a standard or is it a case that anything a little above legal is ok?

IIRC it's 4mm. Anything under that and they will put on new boots.

It's 3mm at all dealers so in effect you only get 1.4mm of effective use, which is piss poor really.

when should you replace the tyres anyway ? on the wear limit

My experience is that anything below 3mm is replaced, but not necessarily with new.

When we bought the Z4 as an AUC it had a tyre replaced with a part-worn.
