Electric Windows
Discussion
Hi,
I've got a '93 chimera and the windows are abit lethargic (especially the drivers side which won't fully open). Does this mean the electric motors are shot or is there an easier and cheaper way of revitalising them?
Also, if the motors do need replacing, is this expensive??
Many Thanks

You might want to get some of Halfwits spray-on rubber and nylon lubricant. Wind the window down and apply to the channel in the alu guide, and along the rubber strip at the top of the door. You'll need to clean the window afterwards to get rid of the "excess", but it does improve things quite a bit.

Lethargic? TADTS.
Not fully opening? I guess some adjustment is required.
woah there... in my case this was merely that the lethargy was getting too much for the motor at the bottom of the travel..
..again silicon spray will solve this. If the window is aligned ok at the top when shut don't start on the the glass position adjusters yet.
Cheers
Matt.
I quite agree with the spray stuff but, the motors on my griff only see 9 volts, well they did until i supplied them with 12v and now they fly up. Quite easy to do as the cable is ok into the doors, its just up to the doors thats a bit "weak".
