Weird...

1st impressions after not driving it for a fair few months: Brilliant thing, everything is direct, has lovely feel and it's surprisingly comfy (Merc has very hard seats). I initially thought, this is a bd, I'm going to really struggle to part with this (as I really could do with selling it this year)... Then as the drive went on, the more I got to thinking 'am I really that bothered?' and the honest answer to myself was, no.

I don't know whether I've just moved on or what. But even though it's massively better than the Merc in just about every way, I find myself thinking that the Merc does the job perfectly well and I no longer need a road sports car (non-nail. The nail is still special enough to warrant keeping luckily). Odd as I say, but I think I'm ready to let go and embrace middle age.

I feel a little sad.

If you're feeling like you are ready to embrace middle age, stick the MX-5 in the garage for 'occasional use' wink

New clutch in mine, took the '5 for a drive on sunday to help get it bedded in.

Nice single lane cruise, met a little friend (an escaped puppy, bless him!) returned him to his house, only for him to escape approximately 30 seconds later and follow me. Returned him again, and left with a neighbour making sure he didn't escape.

A nice cruise along the Welsh coast.

(Excuse the poor phone pics.)

I am a firm believer in a: Bangernomics, b: Multiple cheapish Cars.

MX5 fits in every multiselection. A Merc 190 or a proper Q-Car Barge would compliment my Trooper beater.

Something for everything !
Indeed, MX5 & Saab 900 turbo here smile
