Steve - what car are you thinking of re spraying then? I saw there is a place in Brockenhurst that does that sort of paint. I saw there Mitsu L200 parked outside today done in the green colour and it did look good.

Just remember flip paint jobs are a nightmare if you get scratches or chips because you cant go to halfrauds and pick up a touch up kit for these finishes. If you sustain anything more than minor damage to a panel then a complete respray is the order of the day.eek

It's a chromescent type paint. My one is called "Shot Silk" hurl
There are many listed in the "Monogram schemes" From MG Rover in Chromescent, Chromactive and supertallic. Also supplied to TVR's and some Nissans.
Evidently quite easy to apply and match up, but prices vary between £200 and £800 per litre! yikes

nono
Not strictly true, according to 3 paintshops I have spoken to it is easier to match this paint than a normal one as the eye gets deceived by the colour change.
It just seems like you've had a complete respray when you pay the bill!
