Video Editing on Laptop

I have a Dell 5150, and need to do some video editing in adobe, as some on here do video editing would this be ok for the cause.

Its the fastest and best speced machine i have base unit is athlon XP 1800.

Laptop is P4 3Ghz with 1gig Ram 64meg video memory.

A 3GhZ laptop will perform video editing far better than an Athlon 1800XP desktop PC. (Particularly with Premiere)

With the laptop though you may have issues with Hard Drive space (Laptops not renowned hor having masses of HD space)

Capturing video in a decent format can soon eat Gigs of hard drive.

Also i will be using a lacie firewire external hardrive so not to fry the internal HD.

I was a bit worried about heat from the processor as the laptop gets hot using matlab at times
