Nothing in there.

I think it's of VW origination. Probably a Golf I'd guess.

Chimaera pages says the motor is a Bosch with part number FPE 12V 0130821069. Since the Griff and Chim share many parts it should be right.

Or you could try somewhere like Clever Trevor, although they only show the TVR part No.

Problem solved.
1/ Stripped out, dismantled and lubricated mechanism which had rusted solid!!

2/ Fitted "new" motor from a Ford Orion (Scrapyard £5.00).

3/ Lubricated window guides with silicon spray.

4/ Re-installed.

Result: smooth running and fully operational window.

The motors look to be quite common parts. They seem to be the same as on my Subarus.

Nice one 737flf thumbup
Being a Yorkshireman I do love stories about someone saving money hehe

Can you drop Ballistic Banana a note about the motor you used. I'm sure he'd like the info for TheGriffithPages alternative parts list

TVR CHIMAERA ALTERNATIVE PARTS LIST, lists this window motor as part no: 0130 821 069. This is a Bosch motor listed by seekpart24.com as fitted to Mini Inocenti, Seat 131, Fiat 131, Maserati, 159 EUROS. As reported also Ford Orion and a Subaru. Hope this fits the Griff also. Has Ian Barretti of Notingham had further experience to confirm this fitting.

Just to re-ignite this topic, does anyone know which cars this motor is from?

I decided to follow someone's suggestion and oil the motors on my Chimaera. Which made them go from 'slow' to 'noisy and glacial'. Probably because they were on the way out anyway and the oil has....?

Anyway, can anyone tell me which of the cheap motors on eBay will do? On a Porkers forum they seemed to think the motors were shared, and thet they came from a Ford Orion.

There are loads of Escort motors and plenty of Scooby motors. On the bay they all look the same, but I'm guessing there will be just something that means I can't buy the £5.00 item and have to go the whole hog and buy the £150 unit from a dealer.

Any advice gratefully received.

Cheers and happy NY,

Rich

If it is the same as the one for the Chimp listed here it is the Bosch FPE 12V 0130821069
http://www.rv8r.co.uk/electrics.html

At least one forum lists xxx069 as the left side and xxx070 as the right side motor so not sure if that would be true of the Griff too.

According to the site below it is used on a bunch of Italian cars including Ferrari, Maserati, Fiat....
http://www.niparts.com/Fac/FBD206/BOSCH/0130821069...

and if the Ebay listings are correct then it is also off VW Golf, Ford Fiesta, Audi 80, Toyota Corolla etc. looks like it was a popular part for makers to use.
