Hi All

I'm looking at a Roadsport but it has a fixed bench seat and the pedal box moves. It's a nice car but this isn't ideal - can they be converted - any tips or ideas - off to ebay to look for leather S3 seats.

Grateful for any urnet advice. Thanks

Scott.

How old is the car? I think i have seen ad recently where the car was a good spec but had the bench seats in presumably for more leg room for the driver.

Very straightforward to remove the bench seats. Usually they are simply dropped into place and held down by a person's weight. However, if it has passed an SVA test with them in, they could be bolted in but again this is simple to release.

For a standard chassis car with normal floors and later than mid-90's, check underneath and you should see two U shaped stiffening channels through which the seat runners bolt. These channels stop the floors from bowing. Even on the earlier cars, if you are fitting the S-type seats, these channels are pretty essential. they are available from Caterham and can be retrofitted.

So, no problem at all changing from bench to S type seats at all.
