Hi all,

Picked the new motor up today, had a good drive home until a stonking low speed understeer incident caused some swearing!! I suspect there must have been something extra slippy on the road at that point as the car handled other bends reasonably well. Of course a quick check of currently fitted rubber reveals P6000 Ditchfinders up front and some unknown objects on the back, so probably not particularly ideal.

My general fave economy rubber, Falken ZE-912s are available in 205/60R15 but I also noticed Continental Contact Premium2 are available for not much more (in the scheme of things), I also saw some Vredstein jobbies on Mytyres (IIRC). Any other thoughts/recommendations though? Think 140mile daily roundtrip, 75% M/way 25% B roads.

Cheers,
Rob

Uniroyal Rainsport 2. ~£60-65 each. Amazing in wet and dry, quiet (important as Passat wheelarches are poorly insulated), good crisp handling.
These have only been out a few months, so meet the forthcoming EU requirements for quietness and rolling resistance.

Thanks they sound good but unfortunately not available in my fatty profile size frown Noise is a very valid point to make though, the concrete sections of the M11 are bloody awful to drive on at the best of times!

I've got some Falken 452's on mine.

Transformed the grip in the wet. All but eliminated wheel spin too. £250 for all 4 fitted.

I'm guessing the sport alloys are bigger? I can't find 452s in 15" anywhere, I guess if camskill don't do them they don't exist which is a shame as I know they're highly rated. Don't really want to get in to changing alloys, only got the bugger yesterday wink Plus the 15s look like they'll be really easy to clean, especially compared to the turbines I've got on the beemer!

Cheers,
Rob
