Hello,

Paid a deposit on RS4 (B5 2001)over the weekend, it is the green one that Nick Johnson has for sale. I liked the car and it seemed very straight and clean and unmolested. Needs a bit of minor paintwork, but was thinking that is not such a bad thing and probably means that it hasnt had anything done before.

Just wondering if anyone knows this car and or has seen it? And what your opinion of the car would be?

It is a late plate one, but I am not sure if that makes much difference or not!

Any help gratefully received, have tried a couple of other websites but no information gained so far!

Cheers in advance

Not sure I am getting the deal of a lifetime, but it is a later one with reasonable miles and full audi service history etc.

It was registered 10/01, but not sure if that corralates with build date particularly and has 65k on it.

It is the exact spec I would have chosen if buying from new:

Green (Nogaro blue is my other choice but I had an S4 B5 in nogaro blue and fancied something else)
High Tech interior
Extra airbags
Centre armrest
No sat nav
CD in boot

Nick is replacing the front brakes because it has been stood a while, new mot and service etc and all tyres should be good, he is swapping a few over I think and will have standard silver wheels refurbed.

And six months warranty which i understand is a good warranty

There is a minor scruff on rear bumper and a bit of laquer lift on one sill about inch.

I am going a bit on trust with Nick as he is a specialists so dont mind paying a bit extra for that security provided it isnt misplaced!

Done HPI etc and all okay

Dont want to say our agreed price for obvious reasons

Picking it up this week so will do a further thorough inspection.

I think I have seen the most obvious things to look out for and read a buyers guide so will be going through the checkpoints there before pick up

Car drove well and was tight and as I expected and this is usually what I base decisions on rightly or wrongly.

It is totally standard too another must have for me (Mainly for insurance purposes!)

Any opinions on value?

Thanks in advance
Cheers

I'd expect that to retail at about £15k - we sold late last year a black/black car with 65k, very thorough history (plus nav and a sunroof) for £18k with some tasteful and sensible modifications.

Unfortunately Goodwood and High Tech are a fair bit less desirable (what matters is that you like them) when it comes to resale. The Nav isn't great but again most people do look for this.

Thanks for that, like the colour as it is very subtle even more so for an RS4 and I think the interior will wear better...

Rather be without the nav although I understand it might be desirable to some

The car has the sunroof too, which I wanted.

Going to go with my check list and give the car a thorough look over and if any alarm bells start ringing I will have to see.

Thanks for the help
