Dear PH massive.

Me and the OH are planning our first ever visit to York on 29th May 2009 for a weekend and need accomodation, but don't want to spend too much as it's on a budget.

Any suggestions???

Half term. Night before the races. It's going to be very busy.

You sure you want to come to York then?

You wanting hotels or B and B?

Town centre or outskirts or out of town?

Hotel or B&B, not too fussed, B&B might be cheaper? Again centre, outshirts or nearby place, not too fussed; provided we can walk somewhere for drinks in the evening without car, so even Leeds would be OK. Daytime is in a car, so no prob with location for that.

Ditto above comments - York on a race weekend is different. You sure you want to be in the city centre?

For town centre for a reasonable place.

Try the Blue Bridge Hotel.

If you wanting a little B&B there are hundreds in York. I would look more towards the North West or East side of York. This is for the traffic. Avoid North of York on the A64.

There are park and rides that are the easiest and cheapest way of spending a day in york. The most convenient ones are North of York onA19 or East of York on A1079.

I will try and remember a couple of names of B&Bs for you. mind has gone blank.
