Just moved in to our new house and the security is lacking somewhat. We have a stained glass front door with a broken yale lock and a regular lock but I require a deadlock.

Anyone got any suggestions as I'm no lock expert!

If you can get the door open then you can get a new barrel for the cylinder (yale) lock (screwfix/wickes/toolstation etc). Dead easy to fit, just a few screws.

As for the other lock - you want something like a 5-lever BS approved mortice lock, assuming the door is a wooden frame with a lock let into it. Slightly more complex to fit, little bit of carpentry, but fairly easy IF you have the right tools (or can fit a new lock the same size as your old one.

If not a mortice lock and it's fairly new then likely to be a "eurocylinder" These are dead easy to replace (one screw) but won't deadlock. Get a decent one.
