Hi Guys

All this chat about the 50mph NSL has made me realise that bow would be a good time to get a radar detector.

I'm after one that picks up all detection methods (including safety cameras), is small, plugs into the cigar lighter and is not too expensive.

Is there such a device? I don't think I'll bother with a jammer.

Many thanks

Guys, be very careful. In 2004 I bought a Golf R32 & fitted a Bel Laser Jammer in the front. They are highly illegal under Home Office radar bandwidth laws.

I was very happy as the device saved my licence several times. However - what is VERY important - is that you have a dashboard switch to immediately turn the unit OFF when you know that a laser gun has illuminated you!! The copper is no more stupid than you or I. His gun will give him an error code. On that basis he will probably have your car chased, stopped & searched by a motorcycle cop 1/2 mile along the road. When you horrifically realise that you have been lasered you MUST hit the brakes to below the limit & switch the laser jammer OFF to enable the polce to read your new accurate speed.

Run one of these jammers in France & get caught with it & you car WILL be confiscated & crushed - especially if you are British. Be warned...

Run one here and you will go to jail.
Jammers are very much illegal and will if cuaght with one find you in a HUGE amount of st.

Laser detectors are all you need though bearing in mind that all it does is tell you you have been targeted it wont be able to avoid the ticket however should they target you over the limit as the laser guns have a reading within milliseconds or put another way much faster than you could ever react.

yes the laser pro park is advertised as a parking sensor to get around some of the legality issues with laser jammer units....it works as a laser jammer and a parking sensor...

Does anyone know the current legal situation regarding the Laser park system? I’m aware of a case involving the use of the target system where it was proven that the driver had the system fitted for the purpose of ‘Interfering with the Police ability to carry out their duties’ (Jamming) and he was duly prosecuted. It might have been due to the use of the garage as storage other than for the car but I’m not sure.

The case would not be so easily proven when a ‘Parking’ system is used but any idea what would happen if you were caught with one fitted and more especially any idea how the French Police regard this system and the technicalities around parking v jamming?

If I have understood correctly Laser Pro Park uses same frequency as the Nissan Adaptive Cruise Control in a similar way and it is fitted as a parking sensor.

If so how that can it be illegal anywhere in Europe?
