M'boiler has stopped working, i ran low on oil and i think that may be the cause, its just been topped up but the bugger is refusing to do anything. If there is an air lock or something like that can i sort it myself?

Whats the best course of action? pull the front off and do some giggery pokery or admit early defeat and call in the engineer?

It probably is air locked. You could sit and keep pushing the reset button which might take a while, or you could loosen the hose connection where it enters the burner until oil appears continually. This will only work if the level in the tank is above the burmer and it will spit and fart and make a big smell of oil if you aren't careful.

It's probably a Riello burner then. You can bleed it by losening the pressure gauge connection point plug on the side of the pump facing you. Loosen, then press the reset button as often as it will allow you to (approx 11 secs) and nip the plug up when it fires. Don't touch the screwdriver slot adjustment on the pump,.
