Another Boiler thread

So you possibly want to change your boiler as it's getting old and spare parts are getting hard to come by. It's still working fine but just laying the ground work.

What's with this Notification by Competent Installer / Alternative Notification scheme?

How hard is it and how complicated / expensive. I realise it will be a complete piss boiler* of a scheme from HMG/local council to scam us out of our hard earned.

Just wanted a heads up from those in the know.
