probably in the bible but...

need new blades. Mine are in OK condition but dont appear to be the right ones. The passenger side one hangs a long way over the edge of the screen and doesnt "curve" around.

Anyone tell me what i need to buy?

hmm, well mine have been commented upon by several people that they poke out, and when i looked at a fellow Hants member's car they seemed quite snuggly fitted.

Thanks for the advice re Bosch ones

I've had a couple of sets on mine now, some stick out, some don't.
I think the knack is the cheaper they are the further they stick out, I think I once had Bosch on mine and they were quite snug.

How are you Phil, long time no hear. Must get together soon.

The problem is that the blade must be straight when vertical, but considerably curved when horizontal. I think you can bend the blade a bit to compromise, but a bit of stickyoutness is normal.

the problem I'm having is that the driver's side wiper blade "misses" the bit of the screen in the middle when it's vertical - but only when going left to right. The other way round it catches most of what it's missed.

Tried Bosch, but they miss more than the Valeos I've got ATM. Ideas?

The I'd say someone's tried to bend it and overdone it. Can't you bend it back a bit?

Yes, bend it a little...that's how I got the left wiper to finally 'hug' the screen. Then the arm thing started popping out of the 'crimping' doo-dah thing...a bit of super glue sorted that out quick. Never mind having spanners etc. and a proper tool kit, eh?? A bit of glue, some twisting and you're sorted "They all do that, sir!"

I had that with several sets of Bosch. Someone here suggested Halfords own make, cheaper and and thinner but more bendy and they hugg the screen much better.

I would never go back to Bosch!

Anyone got the reference/parts numbers for the Halfords and Bosch wipers?

I have just had to replace mine. The drivers one I replaced with a Bosch Super Plus 16" from Halfords. The passenger one was already a Bosch wiper but it was much more bendy than the Super Plus model that Halfords had.

After a few enquiries, it was deemed impossible to obtain a match for the existing Bosch one so I bought another Super Plus from Halfords and just exchanged the blades.

Apparently, the Champion ones are slightly more bendy though if that helps.

I used to have Champions a long time ago and they were great. Can't find any around here in Cambridge tho.... :[

I also found that there wasn't enough clearance between the Bosch windscreen wiper and the wiper arm for the water jet things.
