Here's a pic of my Dad and Granddad back in what must have been the mid 1960s.

Looks like Dad's Lotus in the background.

Photo almost certainly taken in Fleet, Hampshire, just in case anyone recognises the street.

Haven't got time to look, but it looks like the houses around the Burnside area of Fleet...

Yes, definitely a Messerschmitt.

And an Austin A55 Cambridge on the left. Not sure about the car on the drive further up though.
My first thought was a mid-50s Humber Hawk or Super Snipe with 2-tone paintwork.
I thought it looked like a Hillman Minx, up to Mk VII, with that fat C-pillar

By contrast, this one only made it to 1986. Does anyone recognise the location? Probably in/around Preston, and I think some sort of civic/further education building.
I was just going to try to see a bigger version of the photo to read the sign on the side of the building, then I realised it was your watermark.

is that an S800 Honda on the other side of the street in the first pic, and maybe a 57 Chrysler in the 2nd?

Yes, agree with Honda in the first pic.

My guess would be '57 Desoto in the second.

the Chrysler, Plymouth, Desoto, Dodge were all similar, but the kinda minimal straight chrome line makes me think it's a Chrysler

Currently off sick at moment recovering from an operation and now getting very bored. I have read PH for years but never felt need to post. Just came across this brilliant thread and decided to dig out some of my old pictures from the loft. Unfortunately not as exotic as some of the cars on here but happy memories for me all the same.
First car in 1983 at 17 year old.

Escort Mexico in 1984

Sunbeam Lotus taken at British Telecom in 1986

Sutton Park

also Sutton Park 1989

Would that be Sutton Park as in Sutton Coldfield / Streetly area..? There's a freight only stretch of railway line which cuts right through the middle of the park, I work trains along it two or three times a week and just before it gets to Aldridge it crosses the Chester Road, a few hundred yards from the railway bridge there used to be an Alfa Romeo Dealer which also dealt in various other Italian exotics. Complete and utter trivia I know, but every time I cross over that road I think of all those fabulous cars which would have passed along it back in the 60s and 70s.
