I've just ordered a new T350C Red Rose from the factory!

So for those interested the Red Rose option costs about £4K extra and you get Tuscan R brakes, a wide bore exhaust, and a modified 3.6 ltr engine putting out 375bhp, a vinyl ester reinforced body wieghing 40Kg less than the std. plastic reinforced one.

Over excited,
Michael.McD

Ps I don't think I can concentrate on work so I'm gonna slip off and get pissed!

Seems a bit expensive! 18 inchers are standard, the brakes seem o.k on mine and you're only getting an extra 25 bhp. The exhaust sounds interesting though! (unintentional pun!)

40kg weight saving is not even half a fat bird either!

Think I'd rather have some trick paint, the exhaust and spend the rest on Nitron shockers.

I suppose that now the 16" wheels are going on Griffs and Chimps they are no longer standard on the 350. Even so the RR at £4K looks to be a good buy. I don't remember there ever being a 400 bhp option, just PHers wanting the 4.0 in the car. I had heard that it was 390, maybe 375 is just more realistic. Tuning the Rover V8 is about £100/bhp so 25bhp is worth say £2500. The exhaust is say £250 and the brakes must be worth £500 to £1000 and I don't know why they haven't used the woven matting (that the boat builders have been using for years) before, say an extra grand.
Welcome back to TVR ownership Michael. What colour is it?

Good grief! THAT much per BHP! I suppose it's cheap then.

More like £600.. which makes it even better value.

Just off to eat my words. Yum.

Fair enough then Buying a 4 or 5 litre rover V8 is approx £20/bhp in standard TVR spec. After market tuning for the final 20 or 40 bhp inc. RR and other bits is nearer £100/bhp. I was assuming that TVR's own engine would be similar tuning costs.

16" wheels have never been available on T350C/T they have always run on 18". The Tamora was launched on the 16" spiders whereupon most owners ordered the optional 18" upgrade. Rich...

Not so. I was at the motor show when the 350 was launched. TVR (PW and two of the dealers) said that if you ordered one at the motorshow then not only would he guarantee the price but the (£1200?) option of 18" wheels would be included in the price. Also top gear tested one with 16" wheels.

Funny that, I was at same show and nearly placed an order with Ben who told me that whilst prices weren't firmed up yet, a T350 ordered at the show would be suppied with 18" wheels because there weren't any with 16" basically! Guess that's TVR for you! Rich...

I understand that sometime in the not too distant future that there will be a T350 price rise, as well as the 18" wheels becoming non-standard.

This is a rumour that I first heard from a salesman back in Feb/March.

Have you been speaking to a dealer located just down the road from 1 of London's other airports???

So what would be standard then. Presumably not 16s now that they've been sold cheap. 17"? 19"? Or just a different design of 18"?

I did hear it there. Also heard it from a major dealer out to the west of London.
Sounded like 16's would be standard.
I guess all of this should be taken with a pinch of salt if the story hasn't changed since the start of the year ...
