GARMIN DATABASE UPDATES

I note that there hasn't been a Garmin scamera update for the UK since 23 Apr 2009.

Anyone know why?

Incidentally, if you download Garmin map updates, you'll need about 6Gb of spare space on your HD. Once the upload to the GPS is complete, the download remains on your HD unless you delete it....

Which is why my laptop had such troubles after a Garmin map download.....

Me also - moved to PocketGPSWorld now and have also loaded the associated free speech files - cool!

One thing though - the OEM Garmin POIs tell you which side of the road a camera is on (where it is specific to only one carriageway) but the PocketGPSWorld database is unable to differenciate which side some cameras are on so you get an alert for the other side of the road.

Garmin UK scamera update now available (dated 20 May 2009) using Cyclops UK data.

But why was it nearly a month in coming out?
