Been done before and with much more style, did I mention 30+ years ago.

Do try to keep up at the back, sorry but this is like a parody of Spinal Tap smile

Yes, I know, I remember it.

It just made me smile and remember the 80s.

Mick Box and Tommy Immoni ( sp ) to name but two did it so much better and with someone who could hold a note in something other than a bucket.

If you want to see someone play a lot of notes to the bar that actually mean something check out Albert Lee or Phil Emmanuel.

I first played along side Phil in about 1972 at the Downunder Bar in Kings Cross ( Sydney ) he was a fast and fluent player then and he ain't got much worse over the years. ( Tommy played drums in Phil's band Goldrush )

Clean picking at speed is a genuine skill, hammers, tapping, sweeping and floods of notes with huge volume and sustain / overdrive to carry the music is something much less.

The likes of Robert Fripp, Jeff Beck, UJR and FZ leave Satch, Vai, Slash etal searching for answers, but at the end of the day players like Albert Lee and Jerry Reed stand on their own in the pickin game.

The likes of Rory and Peter Green are at the other end of the spectrum where less is so much more.

ps. If you like Tommy, have a look at www.dalewillis.com ( my mates son ) he can play a bit

This is an excellent link. The overall sound is a little ordinary in places (might be a streaming compression issue or different production on some tracks) but there is quite obviously a metric fu4kload of talent allied with musical competence going on there,( they don't always come together) , great arrangements which always helps and some little bit's of musical humour.

I hope the chap does well.

The playlist on this link http://www.dalewillis.com/listen.php is exceptional.

Lol.

IMO a fella called Tony Clarkin is the most underrated guitar player and songwriter there's ever been.
