Personally I'm a big fan but a load of people I ask don't like him at all.

I love the fact that he expands my listening by introducing me to new music (who've thought I'd enjoy Dizzy Rascal after all!) but best of all for me is his absolute enthusiasm and love for the music he plays.

Compelling listening on the drive home from work

One thing he has to be commended for is the fact that he always sticks to his guns. If he thinks something is crap, he'll say so regardless of what popular opinion is at the time. I remember a couple of years ago on Gonzo when people were raving about 'The Darkness' and Lowe said that they were basically complete crap...he was right.

Never heard any of his radio stuff, but he always seemed to get good interviews out of artists on Gonzo/MTV2.

i liked him on gonzo when MTV2 was MTV2 and not some sort of b@stard off shoot of MTV1.

Tossser. I cant stand how he speaks really quickly in one huge long sentence without pausing for breath. I also cant stand how every time he interviews a band he comes out with cringe worthy crap about how this particular record and band have reinvented the wheel and practically sucks them off. Id rather listen to westwood.

I've never heard him do anything but rim the arse of anyone he interviews. For that one reason I switch as soon as I hear his voice

Very true, MTV2 has gone way downhill as of late. Although 120 minutes from 1:00-3:00am is still an excellent show. Two hours of interesting music without commercial breaks - jolly good!

Who is Zane Lowe?

Sounds like a nob....!

Anything on Radio 1 is awful. That Eminem song is played to death, and that Prodigy song too!

I stopped listening to Radio 1 a long while ago, but Zane was one of the better presenters definetely IMO

His music is great, but this relentless hyper-hyper attitude, like trying to sound cool by speaking at 100mph, and constantly saying ‘man’ 10 times a minute, makes me want to throw something at the radio.

He is a bit of a sycophant at times, and fills an uncomfortable silence with "Who's on board" or "Thats cool" but I do like him and he seems to have respec' from people he interviews.

It could be worse, he could be an Ozzy.

As above - the fact that he really sucks people off when they guest on his show.

no way near as annoying as Nihal (I'll repeat everything about 6 times before I move on) or Jo Whiley (never has an opinion other than she "loves" whatever she's playing)

Get rid of Zane, Scott Mills, Grimmy, the talentless Sara Cox and bring back Mark 'n' Lard.

I had the misfortune to hear the beginning of his show whilst driving home last night. I hate the way he 'joins in' with the records he plays and his participation at the end of one of Eminems dire offerings was priceless....in a very sad way.

I see(hear) him as a John Peel wanna be. Which he will never be.

Can't stand the fact how he takes a minute to ask a simple question. By the time he has finished, I have forgotten who he is talking to and what the question was.

I really like him, his presentation takes a bit of getting used to; but he has got real passion for what he does and the music he plays, and he plays some diverse stuff which is great.

Its funny, all the people slating radio 1 (some of it is worth slating...) and asking for Mark and Lard, funny... Ten years ago! You sound like your parents!! Guess it happens to us all at some point!

I like him. His sheer enthusiasm for music across many genres and across the years comes across very well and it's this alone that makes it a good show. The sheer lack of interest or knowledge in the actual music being played by most DJ's (on most stations, not just R1) is staggering. I am less interested with, "whose on board?" however! I just don't care!!!

The best broadcasters on mainstream FM music radio are without doubt Mark Radcliffe and Stuart Maconie on Radio 2. It is unfortunate that Lowe's show on Radio 1 clashes with them.

He annoys me, some of the music he plays is stunning (lots is not my taste, some is heinous) but he should limit his talk time to 15 seconds a pop. More often than not if he is on when I am in the car then the radio gets retuned.

How do I sound like my parents? Mark and Lard were brilliant and many of today's DJ's are a waste of air time.

That's my opinion and is in no way connected or influenced by my parents.
