Hi,

I'd like to fit a 740 Live to a Cayenne via the Brodit air vent mount (I assume I'll also need the Brodit dock?). Any tips or advice before I go ahead? I haven't picked up the Cayenne yet so I've no idea whether there are any quirks or potential problems.

I've heard the PCM satnav isn't much cop and I wanted the Road Angel Connected anyway so the TomTom seems like a good deal (£259 from Ebuyer, even if the live service is 7.99 a month...)

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Dave

Hello Dave.

I have a TomTom 730 which I use in my BMW 320. I chose the Brodit air vent mount and TomTom docking bracket because the windscreen mount provided with the sat nav was pretty useless, it was also too far away, as the BMW dash is quite deep. The vent mount is supplied with an adhesive strip which is meant to hold the thing in place when clipped into the vent. I chose not to use this strip, 1, the clips are strong enough and 2, I wanted to be able to remove the whole thing when not in use.
Not cheap, but very well made and places the TT in a perfect position to view when driving.

Hope this helps.

Alan.

A brief update: If you're thinking of ordering any Brodit kit from Mountonus don't bother mad. I'm still trying to get someone to answer phone/email and get my money back...........

Thanks Alan,

I ended up ordering from DSL Direct (purely because they could be bothered to answer their phones and were up front about stock availability).

Mountonus have been a complete nightmare. I cancelled the order by email on the 20th (they don't answer their phones )and opened a credit card dispute yesterday as they hadn't refunded my money mad . Sure enough a package arrived from them this morning furious. I didn't even bother opening it, just sent it straight back. Avoid MountOnUs !

Cheers

Dave
