a Rover 416 (reg P61 XUD). One not so careful owner, who kindly smacked it up.

Light front end damage, but who cares, I spent most of the day stripping the interior, dash, steering etc.

£300 to me, and being such a nice local breaker, I don't even need to bring it home. He's set it out on a stack of wheels, on a hard standing for me to work on and given me free rain (? spelling) to get any other bits I need from the rest of the yard.

I'm a very happy man!! I suppose that's why I'm telling everyone

After reading the comment on another thread, I'd just like to pont out that I didn't test drive it first.

Was that a mistake?

You silly boy!
As for the free rain, we’ve all benefited from that today!

Actually I’ve brought brand new engines in my time. Didn’t test drive any of them. So we’re in the same club mate.

One supplier gave me a free bottle of scotch though

Oooh, dear. What have you done? Here's where it all starts to go wrong (gloom, gloom, etc, etc).

Jus' kiddin'. Glad you've finally got what you needed. Looking forward to hearing about your build.
