Hi All,

I know you are probably bored of newbie questions by now but I need to know how a Cerbera will fare being left in a driveway opposed to a garage?

I ask because I will be looking to buy a Cerbera early next year .

I have done a search on running costs etc so I won't bother you again with them.

I live in Northants (Higham Ferrers) and would also like to know where the closest specialist is to me?

Joospeed gets such a great rating from this place that I would probably be happy take the trek for servicing .

As regards the question about keeping the Cerbera outside, would a good cover help in poor weather?

Haven't the extravagant beauty of a Cerbera, I'm afraid! But the Griff is enjoying newly acquired nautical skills and I have followed some recent comments about weather.

I have been considering a cover for a little while, but my main concern is defeating the object. Covers are fine until you end up trapping the very condensation you want to avoid UNDER the cover and tehn you can't get rid of it - I think I would be inclined to use a cover sparingly and let the car breathe.

Until recently the Covercraft Weathershield cover was both water-resistant and breathable - but now, a year old, it's breathable but permeable. I'm going to call Covercraft on Monday to hear why performance has disintegrated to useless. Perhaps it needs a dunking in NikWax wash-in waterproofing which is OK for synthetic materials. If so it didn't mention in the instructions that this would be necessary. I don't mind spending 5.99 for a bottle, if this is needed, because up to now the car has always been absolutely, totally dry underneath the cover.

Well the Cerbie sat on my driveway in Rushden will be out in all weather, wont fit in my garage. Nearest dealer/servicing I know of is Offord nr St Neots and will be using these tomorrow for a small repair job, if all ok will be back for 12,000 mile service.

I travel on business quite a lot - 7-10 days trips - so tend to have a good blat just before these, wash the car, chamois dry and put the cover on. I never put the cover on when dirty since "wind-chaff" could leave marks on the lacquer surface. I also put the cover on at other times if I'm not going to use the car and it's going to rain. It's actually a well sealed Chimaera and doesn't seem to leak at all but prevention is better than cure.

From my experience the cover needs to be easy to get on and off, dry very quickly, fold up into a small space and be secure when it's windy. The Covercraft Weathershield did all of this.

Hi Martin .

There's a Cerbie just round the corner!

Egg sell ent .

Are you going to consider a cover?

Also if you don't mind me asking do you use the Cerbie as your daily driver? (I will be).

Can't be arsed with cover, if car is wet why cover it.....This is my daily transport apart from wifes car and a scooter. Keeping car on black stuff when wet and icy can be interesting.... Will update on Offords performance once car returned. Brothers 'S2' in at present for service.

DuncanM, check out this previous thread:

My cover was from Specialist Car Covers, I found them to be better quality and cheaper than covercraft IMHO

Mine lived under a cover (TVR waterproof type) for 2 years.

NEVER had any moisture related issues...

Obviously loads of other things went wrong

My Cerbie sits out in all weathers, without a cover, and has never leaked a drop.

Falling leaves however is another story!

Again, thanks for all the replies .

Looks like Cerbera's can handle the weather just fine then.

I won't bother you with any more questions until I am closer to buying (end Jan'04).

Great forum this, looking forward to joining the fold!
