Could be worth considering the Avon ZZS, built primarily for the Caterham market, but also available in Elise sizes. These have lighter sidewalls which should suit our cars.

They don't appear to have the correct size for the front of an S2 Elise.

of course if you're changing your alloys to the team dynamics 1.2's then you can't fit 175's on the front anyway :-)

I'd still prefer Yoko AD08R's tho.... The other day I had it go sideways on me on a damp corner at 25/30mph.. I should note at this point that the corner in question is right by a joinery yard and a petrol station so I'm thinking diesel / sawdust + water = slippy bit of road... Otherwise I'll be writing to Pirelli regarding their winter tyres (since they're currently on my car!)...just goes to show though, sometimes it really doesn't matter what tyres you have on a car.

And just had a dispatch email. Very impressed so far esp as they're an hour ahead.

Right so question time... got my TD 1.2 black alloys on the car and I notice a rip in the side wall of one of the rear tyres...

So I'm thinking it's getting to be time to replace them (Pirelli winter tyres).

Should I get AD07's for the rears and AD08r's for the fronts or should I go for AD08r's all round... will mixing and matching matter ?

If you've got wider fronts wheels and have the option of 205 or 195 sections, AD08 all round.
