Any way to get rear seats into a GT3?
Discussion
I've had the 911 itch for a while, and want the GT3. But with 3 kids on the school run it looks impossible.
I'm sure I've seen the rear seats on "normal" 911s are velcroed in, and anyway if a child seat could be fitted in, then only a seat belt is required.
Are the mounting points for the belts still there under the carpets, or is the rear cabin completely reworked in a GT3?
I've searched the net, but not found any answers, so all ideas welcome.
I know there may be legal issues, but if the belts work and the seats are well located I'm fine with that. With three kids there are two spares anyway ...

There was this short thread a while back, so looks like it can be done:

i have only the rear seat belts fitted at the back of my 2005 996 mk2 gt3.
Not the seats though, which kill the original spirit of the gt3. They can be fitted though.
The previous owner had these belts fitted (OEM) professionally at a porsche specialist.
He would take his small kids everynow and then ,who may have seated on the carpets, maybe with a couple of cussions.
i asked my insurance (norwich union) and they were happy to cover for 4 people as long as i could prove that the fittings were made by professionals (invoices etc). Regardless of what v5 said (2 seater).
I have bucket seats which makes access to the rear difficult.

I have bought all the belts for installation in my GT2 - cost £434 but not yet installed so not sure if I have everything. I was planning on just velcroing in the bottom seat and leaving the back rests off.
Here are the parts I bought:

I have just had seat belts fitted into the back of my 997 GT3 comfort spec. Quickfit SBS supplied and fitted them for £300 but i did change the buckles for Porsche (£50 for 2) items as these fitted the child seats better. I haven't used the seat back or bases and the Porsche group 2-3 child seats fit fine in the back with plenty of room for the 5 year old twins. Admiral were happy with the mods too.
Thanks

There is a chap on here who fitted rear (child?) seats into his GT3 - can't remember his name but I don't think he had any problems IIRC.
I think the issue was more V5c and insurance, as you were changing from 2 - 4 seats...Mr F
