I read the brake upgrade article with interest, I was going to have a go anyway, but now I know exactly what I want and how to do it.OR so I thought! I contacted Rally Design asked for the upgrade kit for AP/TVR, that I needed 10mm spacers. next day delivery... 8mm spacers....rang them back, no don't do 10mm, left it a while rang again, spoke to another sales person and the manager, don't do 10 mm, haven't done 10mm for 7-8 years!!! Only 8mm are now available for princess calipers.
Has anyone else had this problem?
I have carefully measured as best as I can all the components and with an 8mm spacer, think I will have 2mm gap to play with, but I know that's not going to happen when I stick it together.
Has anyone tried to use an 8mm spacer? did it work?

yeah had the same problem, when i phoned i told them it was for 24 mm thick disks, when they arrived and i rang back they said no we have never done those and wouldn't have told you we did. I just drew round them on some 1/2 " steel and made my own, the o rings supplied were not as thick as the counterbores were deep and were also the wrong cross section, i took some from my old calipers and had a flat bottom drill made to counter bore it.

I had the same problem as well, in the end I had some machined specially, lovely job, much better than the cast ones form rally design.

Alternativly source some other calipers? the princess ones are getting on a bit now and rebuild kits and pistons are very difficult to find, many Jap wagons have proper 4 pots in ally fitted as standard ie Subura impreza, Toyota Supra.
