Tom Tom One - Faulty?

I have a continual problem with my Tom Tom One. When I turn the unit on I invariably get a plain white screen!!! I can turn the unit on and off twenty or thirty times before I get the opening screen. Anyone got any suggestions to anything I can do........its so frustrating I'm almost going back to using maps!!!!!!!!!
