Vag Tech's - Noisy jumping aux belt (golf gt tdi)
Discussion
I'm looking for some advice, my golf had a noise at low revs (tick over) coming from the aux belt tensioner I think, this gets worse if the aircon is switched on.
If you look at the belt tensioner its jumps back and forth +/- 1cm ish which seems excessive to me, is it knackered?
The car has done 130K and on its 2nd aux belt but the original tensioner.
The noise is not a squeak (ie bearing on the alternator, its more like a rattle - im unsure how much the tensioner should rattle if it was working correctly.
Thanks in advance

Ring round a few garages and ask, any VAG specialist should have one, I dont know about smaller garages.
Could do it your self.
