Norman - try Brakes International from the useful links wiki - give them a call rather than search online - they were really helpful when I needed seals etc for an old MR2 I had

good luck

Has anyone tried calling Saab?

Although they probably won't have them they may point you in the direction of someone that might.

If you mean the plastic connections to the pipes going to the reservoir, then they push into rubber grommets on the top of the cylinder. They are a bit of a pig to get out.

I got my kit from parts for saabs, had all the correct parts, including new grommets for the reservoir connections.

Thanks Pete

Spare master cylinder now stripped, 'gun turrets' removed, would be nice to replace any ideas where I could get replacements?

One minor problem - there was a little 'T' piece in the reservoir connection farthest away from the servo but i didnt take a photo. When I went to remove the second half of the piston it jumped out so I'm not 100% sure exactly where it was fitted, I can check in due course when the M/C on the car is removed but would be good to know now. Did it retain the second piston?

First piston

second piston

'T' Piece

The T-piece is to retain the inner piston. You should see a hole in the master cylinder housing where it fits, I think this in the recess under the mounting grommet of the "gun turret" closest to the servo, where the oil flows into the cylinder.

When you re-assemble it, you insert the first spring and inner piston, push it into position then insert the T piece to retain the piston in place.

If you can't get them Norman just get some parts washer fluid and give them a good soak, they will come up as good as new.
Machine Mart do 5 litres of parts washer concentrate for about £11, you have to dilute it with water it lasts quite a while. Stick them in a jamjar and give them a damn good shake.

Norman, if you could get access to a lathe, it would not be difficult to make new ones in brass or stainless. The easiest may to make them would be like vertical "rocket launchers" rather than horizontal "gun turrets".

If they are my old ones think its not so much they are grubby but are distorted by the "jubilee clips". Maybe some of those crimp on "o" clips would be better / neater ?

small jubilee type clips do not close up very circular, i noticed thr spigots that the hoses go onto are now not round. This type of clip is IMHO better, only disadvantage is they are "one shot" i.e. have to be cut off.

Valid point the connectors on the 'turrets' and the reservoir are all distorted by the clips will have to find a better way, perhaps your clips. Any idea where they cane be purchased?
