Just got mine through. It's with Aon who I've been with for the past 4 years. Limited to 3k per year fully comp with a guaranteed value of £8.5k. It's £312. Wondered if it was worth looking around ?

Unlimited with the usual excesses around £460. No guaranteed value. I prefer the unlimited as I can't put it down

When I had the 400 Nick I was bored at work one day and rang just about everyone going, AON were the best followed by Footman James then Classicline.

I've only ever made 1 claim with an insurance company so I don't have anything to compare but AON were faultless.

Nic - I'd say you have a good deal .. I pay a similar amount - £306 with classicline - limited to 5K miles.

To lazy to phone around, i'm sure i could have got it cheaper?

I paid £318 (last october) for 1988 420SE, fully comp including class 1 business use, 5000 miles a year.

This was with Allianz Cornhill through Mannings

Paid c£340 for the 400 with Mannings 5000 miles and only £100 xs - seemed reasonable but by all accounts I will be phoning Classicline next July!

Good luck!

I paid £316 for a 350: no mileage limit and with business use included. Also Allianz, but I was told I couldn't get resricted mileage with a business use policy. Time to investigate, I think.

Quote came in last April for £260 with Classicline (been with them 2 years) - 400 SE limited to 5000 miles - rang around and got it cheaper - spoke again to Kirsty at CL and got it down to £242. 100 xs. agreed value etc...

Have been with Classicline for a couple of years now. My last renewal in May was £209.48 for 5K mileage and agreed value on my 1990 400se. Mind you I am an old git (over 40) !

Well - that all makes me a little disappointed! I called my usual insurers Carole Nash as they have proved to be a bit cheaper than others previously and they got me for £260 fully comp on a classic policy 4000 miles including full breakdown and recovery and 30 days (or is it 90 split?) European cover. I am an old git too (50 tomorrow - ohmygawd!), but I hear from others that this area (Clacton-on-Sea) has recently been re-rated upwards! As I bought the car at auction I didn't really have the chance to phone round.
