I've always liked inexpensive and fun cars like the Mini Moke, Citroen Mehari, Renault Frog and the Dune buggy, due to their nature of being fun and cheerful ad very affordable prices.

Kitcar manufacturers have designed some very nice little vehicles in the past, from the Scamp, to the Jimini, the Pimlico and many more, but nothing new lately.

I wonder if a revival of such a concept would make a comeback in the future of the kitcar industry .....smile

Kitcar designs like the Mini Pimlico still have a cheerful design and look really good.

Not quite the same style as the Moke, but there's no doubting the fact that some of 'Mr Sylva's early attempts would good fun. Cheap as the proverbial these days too - I bought and sold this one for £1,200.

(In retrospect, the engine alone way probably worth a good chunk of that, ah wel...)

What a great picture of a Scorcher!!!
Only ever seen one on the road. It had the optional 'bonnet'.
Barry's a very prolific kit designer though...

There used to be a body that mounted on an old Morris Minor van chassis avaliable in early 70's.
A little Scimitar looking if you squinted your eyes. I remember the brochure pics showing it with the roof detached as well.
The car was called, I think, Griffin or Griffon.
A version to fit the Bettle bodyshell was also offered.

Anyone else remember it ?

Came close to buying a Lomax in my youth, slight twinge of regret I didn't do it.

Cheap 2CV powered 2 seater open top goodness biggrin

Was surprised when google showed you can still buy the kit, would have though 2CV donors were getting rare these days?
