Calling all pro-detailers, would that wash-mitt be better than a sponge?

Powder extinguishers arent ideal, but £7 for a 1kg rxample isnt bad: and it isnt a 'cheap' brand either.
They are what every marshal goes in with first (when the need arises). Power is good for knocking down a fire. 1Kg isnt much but it might buy you enough time to get out the car. or put out a small fire.

Also great when your a bit bunged up and havnt got any picolax handy.

At your local discount store.

There's a Lidl 500yds down the road from me.

I'm off to get a pressure gauge, the torque wrench and some axle stands.

I might buy some ham too.

Lidl and Aldi are underrated imo. Bought plenty of bike stuff and other bits and bobs that have far outlasted more expensive and supposedly top quality gear.

Don't just generalize since they're seen as cheap shops. They do the job well and they last. Well worth the money.
Depends what it is, I bought a cheap VDE plier set from Lidl as someone I know recommended them but actually I think they were made from chocolate sprayed silver.
Some stuff is good (electronic calipers for £9 for example) but some is sh*te, just be aware.
Anybody who recommends buying cheap VDE equipment is destined for an early grave.Buy cheap on VDE and you wont be around to buy twice...

The axles stands are a good buy people - they are adjsutable, the platforms are the right shape (not the stupid V ones) and importantly the feet are very big and flat so they dont make a mess of your tarmac driveway like most cheap folded steel type ones do.
But they have folding legs . . . I just can't get my head around laying under a 1700 Kg car supported by axle stands with folding legs frown Even my old Halfrauds axle stands which were £10 are very solid.

More motoring stuff on from this Thursday;

The spanners seem to be a good buy, especially if you're like me and forever losing them!

Car creeper might be worth a punt too, even if it's just to use as a seat for cleaning or what not

I need a battery charger for the gel battery in my MX5 as recent weather and inactivity has flattened it. My Wife showed me this Lidl e mail and it seems to do everything I need for half the price of the Halfords equivalent. A Google seems to get good reviews (from the motor home community oddly enough!). I'll report back at the end of the week.

I've got one and it's had a lot of use keeping my beetle's battery topped up whilst I'm at uni and never given me any issues. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Their chargers are actually very good, I have three, two trickle chargers for bike batteries and one for car batteries. The trickle chargers cost £5 each and are better and come with a longer warranty than the expensive £45 bike battery chargers from the well known, well advertised names.

I've got the wheel stand, which is pretty good. Got a spare set of track wheels / tyres on at the moment.

Might be tempted by another, for £5, to store my steel wheels / snow tyres...........

1 car creeper on it's way to my garage this Thursday, £20 you'd be rude no to.

That battery charger looks very similar to my decent CTEK one - could it be the same?!

The wheel stand was removed from the Lidl page, maybe the stock didnt arrive?
