I've just been offered a Rover 3.5 V8 engine by my cousin who just wants to get it out of his garage to make space.
As far as I know it is a stadard Rover lump, fully intact. Not sure on condition/mileage/etc.
Now I know that mine is a 4.0litre and that TVR Power have twiddled a few bits, but is it worth getting hold of this engine for a few spares? Is there much that is interchangeable?

Really depends on which varient it is, the 3.5 lasted a long time, first seen in the UK in the Rover P5B right upto the SD1 and Range Rover. But in that period it was supplied in avrious forms/block variations hi-compression/lo-compresssion etc etc.
IMHO, it would a be a good start for a 'project' get it stripped down, get the real Steel and RPi catalogues and start planning that Cerbera beating engine.
If its going free, get it, it's worth at least £100 in the free ads.
