I'm looking for some really scenic roads in the Lake District area and possibly Snowdonia. Not urban roads however im looking for rural country roads for a car photoshoot. It's a stunning performance car, so it needs a backdrop just as stunning. Any ideas?

Honister and Wrynose passes in the Lakes are beautiful. If you ask nicely they might let you use the backdrop of the Honister Slate Mines if you want an remote industrial feel to the pics.

Then there are the usual cutesy places around Ambleside, Grasmere, Keswick etc.

For a more desolate setting (and a great road), try driving up the A6 from Kendal to Penrith - lots of moorland views there.

Abergele to Llanwrst
Betsy Coed to Ruthin
Or if you go from Betsy towards Snowden and keep left of the mountain, theres a car park that overlloks the valley and Snowdon

You need to get yourself over Hardknott Pass, I took the wife over the pass when she was pregnant, she nearly gave birth prematurely she was that scared at some of the bends and drops!!

Found a very good route to the Lakes from the Dales: the A684. Some of the bits around Sedburgh (and indeed the stretches further into Yorkshire) are fantastic and it takes virtually all the way to the lakes.
