Will we ever see one available?

Or does one actually exist. I think it would be a great accessory to be able to buy.

I nearly said "Pay attention at the back", but then realised that you meant an entire cover for the hood/top and not just the removeable part.

So, having got that out of the way, I think the question is "Leven?"

Zertec had some plans to do a coupe thing for the Griff. No idea if that got anywhere and Clive appears to be a bit thin on the ground these days.

What sort of advantage do you think you'd have with a full hard top compared to the semi-rigid solution currently used?

Cheers,
Rob

Primarily for looks, it WOULD be different.

Secondly, although my car doesn't leak, I'd feel better taking it out in the rain. Just a personal thing really.

Maybe if someone made a solid rear section, with a heated rear window, fitted to the existing targa top

Just because it is a hard top... doesn't mean it can't/won't leak. If you really want a hard top... get a Cerbera...

I realise that Steve. As mentioned, it would primarily be for a different look option.

As all my money has gone into the Griff, which I can't part with, a Cerbera is'nt a valid option.

A hard top would only make sense if it offered better all-round visibility and reduction of leaks.

My Griff doesn't leak, and has excellent all round visibility.

Certainly not trying to start an argument, even though I am exceedingly pissed (you would not believe how long it took to write this message without typos). But it's pretty damn good as it is.

Assuming the water ingress through the top is down to two things: rear section permeability and seal inadequacy.... the rear section is easily sorted with Thompsons Waterseal, etc. The seal problem will be the same whether a standard TVR top or a hard top. The standard TVR top panel design beats the shit out of Lotus, etc. and is waterproof when the windows are up.

If the Griff had a serious rear visibility problem (like the MK1 MX-5), which it certainly doesn't, then a hard top may make sense. But the Griff is already 80% a hard top already..... so I reckon not.

The hard top Clive "Zertec" Reed had planned was a rather sexy '60's style fastback GT affair, which looked excellent. I agree for practicality forget it but it certainly was a rather nice accessory! Rich...

A solid rear section that looked the same as the rear hood would be good with built-in roll bar and heated glass screen.
