Chaps,

As above really, is there any way to reset the service indicator on my 2005 E200K Elegance?

I've had it serviced by my usual guy but does the indicator have to be reset at M-B?

It's beginning to piss me off as it beeps everytime i start it up.

TIA. thumbup

Benzworld forums suggest that the information on how to reset the FSS should be in your owners handbook. On my W202 it is done by a sequence of ignition on/off and trip reset button pushes. Yours may be similar.

A google search for "W211 FSS reset" revels the following:

http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_do_you_reset_the_ser...

Might be right, might not. There appear to be many different answers. Maybe check the book.

Ignition on stage 1.

Push the reset button on the dash 3 times quickly.

Voltage reading should flash up.

Navigate until the service screen pops up.

You'll have options like service data, items, additional work & confirm service.

Scroll down to confirm service & confirm it.

It should be done on STAR to complete the reset properly - but this will reset the light for you.

The Wikipedia Answer is wrong & can only be used on older models like 203 & 220.
