Cheap sat nav - With postcode entry

You need a Navigo http://www.ebuyer.com/product/159765 about £50. You can do lots with these, videos, mp3's and not forgetting putting the latest Western European Tomtom software/maps on it, but this is very naughty and I am not recommending you put pirated software on it. PM me if you need any more info.

look at the tomtom one, I wouldn't buy any other satnav than tomtom. They simply are the best satnav. Ebay is probably the best place for cheap satnavs
Unless they go wrong. I personally found their customer services lacking. My charger broke. After 7 emails (and 7 responses) they finally sent me a replacement, but it was the wrong one ! In the end I got a 99p cheapy from ebay as couldn't be doing with more hassle.
Also they want £59 for a replacement map

Garmin all the way. They've been in the business the longest and also supply systems for the military and marine environments. They're simply the best in the market.
But are they good at satnav? There's a difference between being good at GPS (pin-point accuracy? ability to detect satellites etc?) but the retail version we call satnav has to be able to be used by idiots. There-in lies the difference. I mean, I have Garmin Streetmap. It is useful; mark waypoints etc and it'll point you in the right direction but you need to have a clue. If you just follow the arrow, you'll drive over fields, through buildings etc. Satnav has to be cleverer - eg when the user takes the wrong turning (eg due to roadworks), it has to be able to update the route quickly.ShadownINja said:
