Whereabout in Switzerland?

There are some places where you need to be very careful.

For example, the Bernese are reputedly slow in their thought processes. In fact there is a law in Bern which bans telling jokes on a Thursday ... because they don't like people laughing in church on Sunday!

a place called Nyon(its got some interesting tax breaks from the rest of Switzerland) ...just up the lake from Geneva.

As for laws,it is against the law for a man to take a leak ,in his own bathroom, standing up after 11 pm if he lives in an apartment block !!!!

Do not under any circumstances blow the whistle on any corporate misdoings in Switzerland. They will chuck you in jail and lose the key somewhere. When you eventually come to trial, the Swiss are so business biased you will just end up going back to jail anyway.

See the film 'A Song For Europe' with David (Poirot)Suchet re the experiences of an executive of Hoffman La Roche. This was the first, or one of the first films made by Channel 4.

Oh yes -

If you are taking the Wedge over there remember that when stopped at traffic lights you must switch off your engine.

There may also be different laws re noise and emissions. They don't much like high performance cars - the lawmakers that is.
