Hi all,

Does anyone know of any track days or driver training (similar to carlimits.com in the UK) in or around Switzerland, ideally with English speaking instructors ?

Been to the 'ring a few times, but was wondering if there's anything closer by where I'm not likely to end up in the armco if it all goes wrong...

TIA.

TCS do a sports driving course and I think we could probably get an English language one in there were enough folk interested. A colleague here says their snow course is fun and useful, though very much aimed at the general public. Again, if we got a group together I guess they'd tailor it to the correct level. I'd certainly be up for the snow course.

I did a day in the UK with Don Palmer at Bruntingthorpe a few weeks ago. I'd highly recommend it. I ended up hiring an academy car from Caterham Midlands which is probably 20 miles away. It was not cheap - well the Caterham was a good price for a track-use car - but was great fun, and I learnt lots. The car was just right for the day and I was open with Caterham so they knew I was going to be scrubbing the tyres. Again, not cheap but if you factor in the wear that such a day would add to your car it became better value, as did the exchange rate.

a few links here, all are very known and respected, most in German or French, but that does not mean they cannot speak English ;-)

Rainer, I can recommend the Anneau du Rhin (10km NE of Mulhouse), we use it on the porsche days. It's asurprisingly difficult track, although flat and really worth a visit...

You can also try "Le Laquais" http://www.circuitdulaquais.com/ a bit further south in France(2hrs from Lausanne) and not too far from Lyon. Used it quite often to fine tune our cars and enjoy ourselfs. Cheap also: around 100Euro for 1/2 day and 150E for full day on shared track. Very nice and technical too. They offer driving instruction in french of course, don't know if they do in english.
