I have to admit I'm half Scottish and I'll never forget watching the opening match of World Cup '98. We looked like we would draw with Brazil but we lost and my dad turned to me and, apologetically said, "enjoy the moment when you're in it son, because it doesn't usually last for Scots or Hammers." If we don't win a cup in my lifetime I will always be bitter to that wker right back in the FA Cup final who put the ball out by our corner flag instead of humping it up field...

Lionel Scaloni was a defender who managed 13 appearances in 2006 and was blamed by some for the 2006 FA Cup Final defeat against Liverpool. mad

Best of luck to him; his role always looked short term w/ a view to progressing within management.

Appears that he's still playing at 37/38 in Italy.

Final game of the season and I'm off to Brands Hatch with a toon fan. Suspect results will go their way but might make journey back quiet if not.

Probably last game for a few of our players to and maybe BS - hopefully all will put a shift in and we'll get something, Cole to score and Nolan with a winner would do.

COYI!!!

Yes, end of big Sam's era I think.

Who else will go?

I think Big Sam will want to win this game more than most - he'd be delighted to send Newcastle down I reckon.

Yeah, the way he was treated by Newcastle fans was nothing short of a disgrace, he will want to turn them over today.

No change there then.As much as I'd like to see Hull stay up, I can't help thinking we will get rolled over today.
As for BFS? Don't like the bloke, his negativity or his football, but still think we'd be mad to get rid.Really could to without the grief of a new manager next season, especially if it's Bilic, who seems to have God like status for soemoen who went chasing the pound after 13 months, and has no record in the Prem league.
If 'ts not Moyes or Pavarotti,( which it won't be) we may as well keep what we've got.Mind you Moyes would only be like for like anyway.

That performance was a disgrace to the shirt. No passion, pace nothing. How they can collect their wages is beyond me.

Didn't see any of it - just got back from brands. Been st all 2015, to drop from 4 to 12 is unacceptable.

Hopefully they won't fk up the next appointment but I have zero confidence in any one involved in the decisions at the moment. Utter clusterfk from boxing day onwards.

OT, bet Diame's enjoying himself. .

Could be the last we see of a lot of them on the pitch today. Jenks,Song, Nolan,Cole just for starters, certainly an end of an era . As I mentioned above , I'm still amazed they didn't play safe and keep him a year to ensure we start the OP year in the Premiership .
Worrying and exciting times rolled into one...

Probably add jarvis & o'brien to that list and I'd chuck in valencia if we can get our cash back. Hopefully we can sing jenks though, although suspect arsenal will want too much cash.

Whole BS saga's been poorly executed from beginning of the year.

Shame as the season, after the start should have yielded much, much more.

Anyone know if we're in Europe (hopefully not imo)?

See that Di Matteo's been sacked today as well - not sure about him but he has won the CL.
