Anyone from here?
On the Westbound elevated section of the M4 this morning(London not Newport!).Green Caterham looking pretty smashed to be honest.Driver appeared to be OK leant against the barrier.Highways Agency comedians already on site.Car was in a sorry state.I'd be surprised if the driver lost it, possibly an altercation with the silver 406 that was also stopped and dented. All assumptions of course.Hope you were OK dude!

Yup, that was me.

I'm fine, but the car is on life supportfrown

And yes it was the 406...

Unfortunately, the driver seemed to have the red mist decend when he decided that someone was about to "undertake" him, and that it would be a good idea to surge forward to stop me.

It didn't work as he intended as he was driving (a minicab) full of people and luggage to the airport, so it probably took a while for it to speed up, looking at the skid marks left on the road, it is pretty obvious he was still accelerating when he hit the rear of my car, which spun straight on into the central barrier.

I escaped without a scratch, but it is 50/50 if the car is a rightoff, I'll find out tomorrow. I'm obviously not very happy, but I'm hugely impressed by just how tough my little car is, I just wish I could buy Colin Chapman a drinksmile

Oh, and go easy on the "Agency comedians".

The two guys who popped up couldn't have been more helpful, - seeing as my car was blocking the M4, I'd expect people to be annoyed at ME for making them late for work, but the abuse directed at the two people there helping me after what could have been a fatal accident was absolutely disgusting.

Glad to hear you were OK!
Pleased that the HATOs served you well,I cant top laughing when I see them, hence my description! But then I laugh at people falling over and other questionable thingssmile.
They are tough little cars. They always look sad as so much falls off, however the important parts tend to stick together.

Good luck on the outcome !

Sorry to hear about your scrape. Well done to ACBC and all the other engineers who have refined the design over the decades.
