My V8S has the older style, rectangular section black struts on the rear hood section.

Is it possible to replace these with newer Griff/Chim style alloy looks ones?

If so, where can I get them, how much are they likely to cost, are they easy to fit and are they actually the same as the Griff/Chim ones????

You can no longer get the "S" ones

I haave been told they are about 1" longer so a couple holes need drilling

not sure on cost though

Mine actually went straight into existing holes IIRC - no extra drilling required! (Ally jobbies £90 the pair on a special deal a couple of years back from a TVR dealer!)

Got mine as advised by Podie, by putting a wanted here on PH, got two responses the following day from breakers.

With postage came to ~£100, and they did need some drilling to be fitted - but the improvement in looks was well worth it
