Of course its a classic! And a belter at that!
Apart from body kit and wheels, what else have Koenig done to it?

Well, wouldn't it be a 'future classic' rather than a classic?
Stunning car nethertheless..

KOENIG SPECIALS unlike ALPINA never modified the vin numbers to there cars, infact very few records were kept.
BMW built the car in 1991.850i.£68.000
koenig sold the first owner the kit in 1995. DM 19.000
I have poor quality telex's from Koenig with cost to fit and paint the car,
But there are no invoices for this service. I can only assume that the kit was fitted at the delivery address. SUNDON PARK CAR SALES. LUTON BEDFORDSHIRE.
There is no mention of the wheels (FAGIX) 12j rear with 335/40/17 tyres +front 9j 265/45/17. When I first made contact with Walter Koenig, 1 year ago, He instantly recognised the rims. so either over the years documents have been lost or the wheels obtained elcewhere. the motor is unmodified, but the limiter has been removed.
One telex has a quote for a Koenig Specials sport exhaust (this was fitted) and a 12% better excelorating diff (?)
The previous owner (I am number 3) tells me that there are only 3 right hand drive KS8's in the world. 1 in Japan.1 in New Zealand. Koenig can not confirm this.
Koenig have happily issued a Letter Of Authenticity for my car but the history is rather patchy.
Getting back the is it a classic question. How do I get a agreed value, classic insurance quote?

Whether it is a classic in any ones view apart from yours doesn't matter. For insurance you just ring any one of the specialist classic car companies (I use Heritage) and get them to quote you. I'm not sure how you would get a valuation on a car like that.

The problem is getting an agreed valuation.
1 of 3 in the world. the only one with a letter of authenticity.
Still available to day 450hp supercharged koenig motor. but dose it add value or not? Is it posible MODIFIED CAR INSURANCE is more apt?

This car belonged to the owner of Sundon Park Car Sales and replaced a Konig Mercedes SL.
I know the guy in question and was with him earlier this week. Let me know if you what other info you want and I will speak to him for you.

I believe the Sultan of Brunei owns a supercharged version of one of these (along with dozens of other 850i, 850ci, 850CSI, B10 Alpinas and a B12 Alpina).
