The Offspring - Smash:

I heard "I'm not in training, acensorede".
Apparently it's "I'm not a trendy acensorede"

The Sidewinder Sleeps Tonight is a great one. They had a radio competition in SA when that song was on the charts, a prize for the first person who could get the lyrics right. Nobody won!

"Cattle fornication" - Red Hot Chili Peppers

"Can't stop the ferrets when they need food" - Red Hot Chili Peppers

And the opposite of a misheard lyric...

For years I thought it was funny that the Destiny's Child song "bootilicious" had a lyric that sounded like "I don't think you're read for this jelly". I was quite upset when I found out that really is the lyric.

Just had one right now! Busy singing "Aaaaaah American wasteland" in my head where INXS's Michael Hutchence, God rest his soul, would have been singing "I'm elegantly wasted".

Also, back when I was at school, a classmate asked me if I had Simple Mind's track "Promised you America" (Promised you a miracle).

EDIT: Thought of another one! I heard a really unusual song on the radio which I liked so much I listened for the title and artist, then went straight to the nearest record shop and asked if they had the new album by Lori Amos. paperbag

The Prodigy - Out of Space

The actual Lyric: "I'll take your brain to another dimension - pay close attention"
What I heard: "I'll take your brain to another dimension - hey close the kitchen"

This is what I have been thinking since about 1994 - I only found out the actual lyrics last week.

I thought it was "Oooh, I'm gonna buy shoes and I'm ready for the weekend". Which sounds about right to me (yay new shoes).

But it seems it's actually "Oooh, I put on my shoes and I'm ready for the weekend" which doesn't sound half as fun. frown
