Morning all,

Currently in the market for a new pair, I have my eye on these...
http://www.prodirectsoccer.com/prodinfo.asp?PID=PD...

I was wondering if anyone has any they would recommend and any other good/cheap places that I would be able to purchase a pair from.

Cheers

They're white! tut tut.

That has a custodial sentence attached to it at my rugby club!

Yeah I was thinking about last years preds as you can pick up a pair quite cheap at the moment and the touch on them is perfect, but I always feel quite slow and heavy in the adidas boots.

Also does anyone know the best studs/blades to have on a 3g surface?

Edit. is 3g classed as hard or soft ground?

What position do you play as this can really dictate what the right type of boot is for you?

I play in both central midfield and up front depending on who we are up against. If I am in CM I usually wear Copa Mundials with a mixed sole (studs and moulds) as I find this gives the best grip and the kangaroo leather on the Copa's has an excellent feel and response to it. I like to get quite stuck in when I play and the thicker leather on the Copa's gives the protection I think is needed in CM.

Predators are a great boot and you really can spank a ball with them on, but they are not the boot of choice in any position for me. I don't feel in as much control with them on, I find the blades really hurt my feet on any surface when running and I think they look too flashy as well!

If I am up front I wear Nike Mercurial Vapors. Yes, they are flashy, but they are also so light you feel like you are running bare footed. When picking the ball up at speed I can't think of a boot that will give you a better first touch.

Just my two penneth worth.

Is it just me, or do you target anyone in White/flashy boots?

We always looked at these boots as people who would be muscled out of the game after a few big challenges and looked to go in hard, but fair early doors.

I´ve been given up a couple of years now, but the flashier the boots, the more you can expect to be kicked...

Never witnessed that to be honest. I have always had flashy boots & have never been singled out for nasty tackles etc. Perhaps i am to quick for the feckers. hehe

Although after spotting these

I am rather tempted.

Looking at most boots that people wear now, most would be classed as flashy. looking at the Nike range, there is hardly any I would class as not flashy. Other boots im considering are the addidas pure 2's.

Also just in case people missed, what type of blade is best for a 3g surface?

Very good boots.

Best I've ever bought. Lots of feel with this boot since it's so light. Like playing in barefeet smile

Being the saddo that I am, I went on Nike ID and made my own fancy ones.

Mine are for futsal though, not 11 a side.

As a defensive midfielder and sometime centre-back, we used to look for the youngsters in white boots... and legally put them mentally out of the game with a few hard hits. I recall the story of Tony Adams who allegedly used to kick the opposition striker up in the air and say "welcome to highbury"...

Sorry OP, totally off topic. Just my view from Saturday football of 10 years standing... but retired 2 years now so boots may have changed.

Main point is enjoy playing as people give up and you miss it badly. I played last season 1 game as a stand-in due to illness and it was hard work....

Enjoy your seasons

I'm going to say you either wore Nike Tiempo's or Adidas World Cups!

I hate ageing central defenders treading on my toes deliberately when I am in the Vapors and making comments about my resemblance to Peter Crouch. At least I can head the ball though biggrin

Nice Plain Adidas World Cups for me, or some Umbro Specialis that I've had for years. I bought some white/grey boots at 19 when I first started playing mens football - never making that mistake again.

I'm more of an accelerator man myself, they have just been released today on pro direct. For sale for £260 so I'm guessing the manias will be the same, should be released in a week or two
