I purchased a similar age SLK230 in June this year with 84k miles or so for £5500. It also had full history mainly with Mercedes. It had leather interior, aircon and upgraded stereo (nice in open top car). I am not sure how the values of CLK compare with SLK but I would say this looks to be a good price if the car is as described. Have you seen it yet?

(I did find when looking at 230SLK's of this age that the pricing and condition were all over the place. Often, when a car advert said FSH, it really wasn't FSH at all - and the condition and the way they drove were very different - so it was extremely hard to gauge values. I suspect I paid 5-7% more for mine than I should have and I did give it a full Mercedes B service at a specialist as well as 2x new rer tyres so am around £6k+ a little in - but then I am quite pernickety with my cars!. I am selling mine now, as the GF has quit her job and does not want to keep it - especially as we have 2 other cars)

Bought a CLK 230K in June. Was a friends 2nd car, but he had done a trade-in deal with Mercedes, for a £45,000 E-Class estate. Mercedes dealer gave him £2,500 for the CLK. I had to pay the dealer another £50 to alter the paperwork. So, £2,550 got me a CLK 230K, 2001, 44,000 miles from new, Merc service history. Leather, air, cruise, but it has a 6 speed manual box, which is a pain to use with the foot operated 'handbrake'. Spent another £300 getting the front discs replaced, and new MoT. New licence plate £10, old one was delaminating. Wheels have gone, i.e. need refurbishing, will probably get a set of 17" ones instead. No dents or scratches either inside or out. Great motorway cruiser, a bit heavy around town. Returns 41/43mpg at motorway crusing speeds, now has 46,000 on the clock. Used no oil, or other fluids. Will travel to Spain in it this month, we do that journey 6 times a year, 1,020 miles door to door. Lack of storage space in another niggle, e.g. no cup holders, small door pockets, etc.

Personally I would be put off by the cloth trim - but that is just my taste I suppose

There are some decent 'what to look for' sites for the old shape CLK on the net - am surfing on a blueberry at the moment so can't provide the links

I'm certain someone will pop up with them pretty swiftly
