Mercedes W108 needs saving from my local scrappie

To me this is very classic. And it's just been towed into my local scrapyard...
A 1971 Mercedes W108 280SE 3.5, very regal looking in silver with black leather. It's all there and would require full body restoration but is not beyond saving by any means.
It's had a recent comprehensive underseal job so I wouldn't be surprised to find it has an MOT and has been chopped in under the Scrappage Scheme. However the scrapyard owner was reasonably receptive to the idea that someone could buy it.
I reckon it would make an excellent project for someone and deserves to be rescued. If you're interested, BE QUICK...
