Great idea as said above ,players should be made to pay their wages to help pay towards the fans cost
Why? It's a great gesture, but players don't 'owe' the fans money, it's part of being a football fan to endure games such as these no? Should the Southampton fans pay extra as their team played so well?

I agree I think it is a great gesture to reimburse the fans but I would much rather they pulled their fingers out and gave us a huge reaction and performance next week.

I know people who drove down , got the train down and a couple on the disabled supporters bus .

How do you quantify travelling expenses ?

Then what happens when we get howked at home ?

Paying the fans back in financial terms is a non starter , just do it on the pitch for the rest of the season please.

The club needs all the goodwill they can get and this is a great PR exercise.

Players are giving the money back for the cost of the game. Those that don't get it refunded will instead have the cost of the ticket donated to charity by the players.

Sounds good to me.

I'm interested to see what the squad will look like for the Arsenal game...

Whatever.

Anyway, whilst the club never really improves and is happy camping in the lower half, we've ground some fairly decent results.
Today was okay. Happy with a point. Could of nicked it if Wickham had his shooting boots on.

All in all its very meh. Not sure what the January window will bring.

Oh and Sterling moves to my no.2 of cheating bds behind Stephen Taylor (chances of being shifted from the no.1 spot are slim).

You've got to be happy with draws against Chelsea and Liverpool, its the next few games that are important as they are potential wins. We do desperately need to sign a striker in the transfer window, even if he is only a loan.

If you still want Borini and Borini wants out i'm sure we'd sell him for £50 at the moment.
Doesn't even get on the bench.

Cracking game of football, we probably shaded it due to the quality of our chances, but we did have Pantilimon to thank more than once. Despite the turmoil going on between LC and GP, he does seem to have them playing some good football, one defeat in 8 now is it?

Absolute garbage. Not one positive (apart from they only scored one).

Really fking annoyed at that display. Thought we could have beaten Liverpool who in the end could have had any number of goals.

Enjoy your Saturday afternoon SAFC. You really are complete dog dirt.

I would swap a half eaten Mars bar and a packet of hula hoops for altidore to be fair.

Defoe will get goals, but gus needs to change his tactics and get 2 up front with the wingers getting the ball in the box.

This. We won't ever know the true details of the deal but I hope SAFC have done their sums on the fee/wages.

BTW you are being generous with a Mars bar and crisps. wink
